Job summary

TEKsystems in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a candidate for a contract-to-hire onsite role in a healthcare scheduling environment. You will handle high-volume calls, assist with scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration, coordinating with physicians and clinical staff as needed.

Responsibilities include communicating reminders, managing demographics and insurance data, and guiding patients through billing and financial assistance options.

Qualifications

• High-volume inbound/outbound call experience (65–80 calls per day)
• Scheduling, registration, or healthcare customer service experience
• Insurance verification and referral processing experience
• Knowledge of medical billing practices and financial assistance programs
• Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with electronic scheduling systems and patient reminder platforms

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with scheduling appointments over the phone and via email
• Obtain insurance information, referral forms, and other required documentation from patients
• Counsel patients on financial assistance options and insurance-related matters
• Schedule and register patients remotely with no direct patient contact
• Communicate with physicians and clinical staff regarding urgent scheduling requests and referrals
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information during the registration process
• Review and maintain scheduling accuracy for new and existing patients
• Contact patients with appointment reminders and obtain any required insurance or referral information
• Support patients with insurance-related questions regarding billing and payment responsibilities
