Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is seeking a Front Desk Assistant ASC to greet patients, check in, and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information. You will support opening procedures, handle petty cash, collect co-pays, and assist patients in the lobby with phones as backup.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years in healthcare, proficiency with computer systems and medical terminology, and a professional, compassionate demeanor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1-2 years healthcare experience are required.
• Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of computer systems and programs
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to multitask in a busy office environment
• Must express compassion and kindness to patients and maintain a professional, upbeat attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer relations skills
• Ability to work effectively with medical staff, management, authorizations, external agencies, and patients
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
• Normal busy office environment with substantial patient contact

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients.
• Performing check-in procedures.
• Maintaining current demographic and insurance information in computer and chart.
• Performing office opening procedures, petty cash balancing, co-pay/co-insurance collection, and assisting patients as needed.
• Primary focus is servicing patients in the lobby with backup for phones and other front office personnel
