Job summary

Integrity Care Group is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to handle front office duties, greet patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and maintain patient data integrity while ensuring confidentiality. The role emphasizes excellent customer service in a busy clinic setting.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma (Associates preferred), 1–3 years of medical office experience, and knowledge of medical coding, billing, and HIPAA regulations. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain a current BLS certification.
• 1-3 years prior medical office experience is preferred.
• Understanding of medical coding and billing.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood-borne pathogens, and others.
• Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate new and current provider staff.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner; informs on delays and expected wait time.
• Obtains registration data, insurance information, and photo ID at each encounter.
• Promptly and accurately enters patient data into the computer system.
• Verifies patient’s insurance; collects co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles as per plan.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA and related guidelines.
• Balances daily charges and safeguards money received.
• Manages patient charts, arrangements for referrals, and shares information with other entities as needed.
• Assists other staff in a positive, team-centered manner.
• Schedules and follows up on provider referrals.
• Keeps lobby clean and stocked with necessary items.
• Aims to minimize financial risk and ensures compliance with auditing services.
