Job summary

Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant (PCA/UAA) to support the interprofessional team in delivering high-quality care. This role includes basic ADL tasks, patient comfort, safety, and coordination with licensed nurses while upholding ICARE values.

Full-Time Nights 36 weekly hours with rotating weekends/holidays. Requires a high school diploma and CNA/CMA/PCA experience, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• 18 months CNA/CMA/PCA experience preferred
• 1 year secretarial/office experience or internal cross-training within Houston Methodist
• Healthcare experience and medical terminology knowledge preferred
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming unit telephone calls and transfers; assist with patient flow and throughput.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff in a professional, customer-focused manner.
• Help coordinate unit workflow, organize paperwork, and support nursing staff with delegated tasks.
