Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a dedicated caregiver to provide routine patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will assist with ambulation, hygiene, meals, and comfort while responding to call lights and ensuring patient safety.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED; CNA preferred. Shifts rotate across days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays, 40 hours per week, with a strong team-based environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Licensing Board.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding, and attending to care needs as directed by nurses or physicians.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and special needs; assist with valuables and personal items.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer inquiries, relay messages, assist with gifts, flowers and mail.
• Assist with transport, intake/output, specimen collection, and coordinating outpatient appointments.
• Perform clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, chart preparation, and interdepartmental communications.
