Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine patient care under the direction of nurses and physicians. The role involves ambulating, bathing, feeding, and assisting patients, with attention to safety and comfort.

The position follows a day shift schedule, with wknd/call-time as needed and 80 hours every two weeks. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and CNA certification, with the ability to work the hours specified.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, measuring intakes/outputs, feeding and assisting with care needs.
• Responds to patient call lights, greets visitors, answers inquiries and may relay messages.
• Coordinates outpatient appointments and requisitions; maintains orderly patient rooms and handles supplies.
• Performs clerical tasks related to admissions, discharge, transfer and chart preparation; supports department staff.
