Job summary

Avera McKennan is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to provide routine patient care in a day shift setting at our Sioux Falls facility. The role involves direct patient care, support services, and coordination with nursing and other departments to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, responding to call lights, and helping with admissions/discharges as needed.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively with others and to maintain visual acuity and hearing to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding, and assisting with care needs.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and assist with valuables handling.
• Greet visitors, relay messages, assist with gifts, flowers and mail for patients.
• Ambulate patients and assist with wheelchair transfers; collect specimens and transport patients as needed.
• Prepare requisitions for diagnostic/therapeutic services and coordinate outpatient appointments.
