Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Per Diem/PRN night shifts (6:00pm–6:30am). Compensation is $25.00 per hour. This inpatient rehab setting focuses on brain/spinal injuries, neurological issues, and other complex conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or similar healthcare role.
• BLS certification required or obtained within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, performs routine patient care tasks and documents care provided.
• Transports patients to treatment areas and assists with transfers to stretchers/wheelchairs.
• Assists with dressing, showers, bathing and feeding.
• Responds to patient calls and completes hourly rounds to support patient well-being.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Perform services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.
