Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital in Peoria, AZ, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Per Diem/PRN 12-hour shifts (6:00-6:30). Compensation is $25.00 per hour.

Join a team focused on compassionate care for brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological or orthopedic conditions. Under RN supervision, the PCT will perform routine patient care and documentation, assist with transfers, dressing, bathing, and feeding, and ensure timely services and rounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment.
• Hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas as needed.
• Assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Dresses, showers, and feeds patients as required.
• Responds to patient calls and performs timely care per RN supervision.
• Participates in hourly rounds and patient turning/repositioning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certified BLS

Hospital experience as PCT/NA or related field

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Performs services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.
