Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Tucson Northwest is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team on a PRN/Per Diem day shift. The role includes assisting patients with bathing, feeding, and mobility, and supporting care teams during rounds in a post-ICU setting.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification, and BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Pay starts at $24.50 per hour with weekend differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as nursing assistant or CNA certification is preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing and personal care.
• Perform hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs and other instruments.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly; restock supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
