Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) for a part-time day position to provide compassionate bedside care, assist with meals, mobility, baths, and linens while supporting the bedside RN.

The PCA will monitor vital signs, report changes, use safety equipment, and help create a positive patient experience in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role offers development opportunities and a strong benefits package for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Ability to assist with age-appropriate patient care activities and maintain safety.
• Ability to read and perform basic math; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, mobility, and linen changes.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain infection control practices and patient safety protocols at all times.
