Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Care Tech for the 3C Med/Surg Intermediate Unit. The role supports RN staff with essential nursing tasks in a 26-bed, high-acuity environment and engages in multidisciplinary bedside rounds.

You will assist with ADLs and monitor patients under supervision. Qualifications include a High School Diploma, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, feeding).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization and multitasking in a fast-paced unit.
• Prioritizes unit tasks and coordinates with the charge RN or supervisor.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers phone/intercom/call lights courteously and communicates with staff and family.
• Manages overall unit workflow with the charge RN as needed.
• Assists with census, admissions and discharge lists when required.
