Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the CDH Medical Care Center, a 24-bed unit serving adult medical and oncology patients. The role operates 6am-6:30pm with rotating weekends under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include basic nursing care, vital signs, daily living assistance, and communication with the nursing staff. High school diploma, BLS, and CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester completed are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester completed is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and multitasking under stress.
• Prioritizes unit work with critical thinking.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers phone, intercom, and call lights politely and relays information appropriately.
• Manages overall unit workflow with charge RN or manager as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates admission/discharge/census lists.

Education
