Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Surgical Care Center on a part-time night schedule. Under the supervision of an RN, you will perform basic patient care activities, monitor vitals, assist with daily living activities, and support unit workflow.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, CMA, EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritizes unit tasks and manages workflow with supervision.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls and communicates information to staff/family/patient.
