Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's CDH Surgical Care Center (2 B/C) seeks a Patient Care Tech IHR to work 6pm–6:30am on a 12-hour shift schedule. The role supports RN staff by monitoring vitals, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a clean, safe patient environment on a 49-bed unit.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, plus CNA/CMA/EMT clinical rotation experience and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or CNA/CMA/EMT.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities under RN supervision.
• Monitors vital signs, glucose, and input/output.
• Assists with personal care, bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Maintains clean, orderly patient rooms and supports unit workflow.
• Prioritizes tasks and communicates changes to staff.
