Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Technician I/II to support the Med Tele/Float unit on site in Clinton, MA. The role covers mixed shifts with a focus on safety, accurate observation, and compassionate patient interaction.

The candidate will perform vital signs, basic care activities, EKGs, POC tests, specimen handling, and assist with treatments under licensed supervision. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification within 30 days as a condition of employment.
• English language proficiency; ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with the RN about patient observations and changes.
• Monitor high‑risk patients and maintain patient safety.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility.
• Support treatments by preparing equipment and assisting clinicians.
• Record vital signs and document intake/output.
• Participate in patient care procedures and equipment management.
