Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the Memorial Campus Float Pool. The role is full-time, on-site in Worcester, MA, with a day shift and 24 hours per week. The job focuses on direct patient care, vitals, EKGs, specimens, and assisting licensed clinicians, under RN supervision.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, and Basic Life Support within 30 days. Excellent English communication and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days as a condition of employment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to RN regarding patient observations.
• Supervise high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse.
• Maintain a safe environment and assist with restraints as trained when needed.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Perform vital signs, weight/height measurements, and specimen collection as needed.
• Assist with treatments/procedures and position patients for care.
