Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Leominster, MA is hiring a Patient Care Technician I to join our trusted care team. Under supervision of a licensed clinician, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient conditions, take vital signs, and support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital environment.

We require a high school diploma or GED, current Basic Life Support, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.
• Experience as Patient Care Technician or similar preferred.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Proficient computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN about observations and changes in patients.
• Provide constant observation of high‑risk patients as assigned.
• Assist with daily living activities and patient mobility.
• Move, lift and transport patients using proper safety techniques.
• Take and record vital signs; perform EKGs and point‑of‑care tests; collect specimens.
• Assist with treatments and prepare equipment; support procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and uphold standards of care.
