Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or GED and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• English proficiency required; ability to read, write and communicate clearly.
• Basic medical terminology and computer skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations and changes in condition.
• Maintain constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by nursing leadership.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment and de-escalate patients when needed according to policy.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, ambulation, and meals.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, and safe patient transport using proper body mechanics.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, and other patient measurements accurately.
• Perform EKGs, POC tests, and bladder scanning per hospital standards; collect and label specimens.
• Assist with treatments and procedures by preparing patients and equipment; provide emotional support.
• Observe dietary intake, manage tube feeding and Ostomy care as directed.
• Provide respectful, culturally sensitive communication with patients, families, and staff.
