Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Leominster, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for a part-time night shift. Under licensed supervision, you will assist with patient care tasks, monitor patients, and help ensure a safe environment.

No relocation required; immediate on-site work in a hospital setting. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 30 days, good English communication, basic computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30-days as a condition of employment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic Medical Terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment.
• Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients by utilizing proper safety techniques.
• Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks and following Restraint Policy standards.
• Takes and records vital signs and measures height/weight.
• Performs various unit procedures and supports RN with treatments and equipment.
• Precepts new Patient Care Technicians.
