Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in a stable unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, document patient data in the EMR and help with admissions, discharges and transfers.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to read and write, basic math and computer skills with two weeks of training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Limited or no experience; two weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Acute care experience in last 3 years preferred.
• ASN or BSN enrollment preferred with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, I&O, etc.).
• Supports quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintains a clean environment.
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as stocking supplies and equipment cleansing.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
