Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated patient care assistant to support direct nursing care for patients in stable condition and assist with unit coordination. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, document care in the electronic medical record, and support transfer, admission, and discharge processes under RN supervision.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and completion of a brief training period.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• CPR certification may be required.
• Compliance with background and privacy policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care including ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, meal intake, and monitoring.
• Participates in quality initiatives and patient safety activities, such as bedside reporting and hourly rounding.
• Documents vitals, I&O, weights, restraints, and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists with unit activities like supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
