Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support direct patient care and unit coordination in a busy inpatient setting. Under RN supervision, you will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, perform basic procedures, and document care in the EMR with accuracy.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of acute or long-term care experience (or be enrolled in a nursing program), and basic computer skills. Certifications may be required upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in an acute or long-term care facility or enrollment in an Associate's in Nursing or Bachelor's in Nursing program.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care including activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic procedures as assigned.
• Assist RN in care of acutely ill patients and maintain medical asepsis; document in EMR.
• Participates in unit activities including admissions, discharges, transfers, and supply stocking.
