Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Certified Nursing Program (CNA), grandfathered from CNA requirement for certain hires.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in a health care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) certification, grandfathered under certain conditions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); obtain/maintain within 30 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes and assist with care in collaboration with RN.
• Perform essential skills to support patient outcomes per orders and RN direction.
• Maintain clean, safe patient rooms and assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and transfers.
• Document all care, including vital signs, intake/output, and equipment used.
• Communicate plans of care and patient needs with RN/Charge Nurse and other departments.
