Job summary

University of Southern California’s Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in patient care delivery, documentation, and unit organization. You will respond to calls promptly, assist with mobility, hygiene, and meals, and help ensure safety and clean environments under RN supervision.

The role emphasizes accurate data collection, effective communication with patients and staff, and collaboration with the care team to support patient plans and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Pref 1 year experience in a health care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required; if no card upon hire, obtain within 30 days (LA City only).

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Assist with vitals, daily weight, I&O, hygiene, meals, ambulation, and transfers.
• Maintain clean, safe patient rooms and equipment.
• Document care provided and communicate with RN/Charge Nurse.
• Collaborate with RN to implement and adjust patient care plans.
