Job summary

The University of Southern California Keck Hospital of USC seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff with patient care delivery, clerical functions, and unit organization.

The role emphasizes timely response to patient calls, routine vital signs, hygiene, mobility assistance, and accurate documentation in electronic systems. This on-site role requires a CNA and BLS certification, and a high school diploma, plus LA Fire Life Safety training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Pref 1 year experience in a health care setting.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Fire Life Safety Training required (LA City) or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient call within 10 minutes.
• Assist with vital signs, daily weights, intake/output, and hygiene.
• Maintain clean and organized patient rooms; assist with meals and mobility.
• Document all care provided and vitals in patient records.
• Communicate plan of care to patients and families and collaborate with RN.
