Endeavor Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Swedish Hospital in Chicago. This full-time Nursing Assistant role supports the 4E Med/Surg/Tele unit and includes day shifts with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will assist patients under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager, perform basic nursing tasks, monitor vital signs, document in the EMR, and ensure patient safety and privacy.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completed nursing assistant training with clinical rotation.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care on the assigned unit under the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates respectfully with patients, families, and health care team.
• Uses standard precautions and PPE as required.
• Assists with hygiene and elimination needs.
• Sets up ECG leads, SPO2, and blood pressure cuff for new admissions.
• Assists RN with admitting patients and takes initial vital signs.
• Helps with nutrition, ambulation, and range of motion.
• Documents vital signs and glucose in EMR.
• Maintains patient privacy and stock supplies on unit.
• Performs rounds every two hours and reports changes to RN.
