Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 4E Med/Surg/Tele unit in Chicago. This full-time night-shift role involves direct patient care under a Clinical Nurse Manager, with weekend rotation and holiday coverage as required.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, ECG setup, and documentation in the EMR, while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. CNA certification and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or successful completion of accredited nursing assistant training or equivalent.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with others; uphold confidentiality.
• Effective written and verbal communication; be organized and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned nursing unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates effectively with patient, families, visitors, and members of the health care team in a respectful manner.
• Understands and uses standard precautions with all patients and appropriate PPE.
• Assists with patient hygiene and elimination needs.
• Sets up patient rooms for new admissions with ECG leads, SPO2, and BP cuffs.
• Assists RN with admitting patients and taking initial vital signs, including patients with Covid-19.
• Assists with meeting nutritional needs and ambulation.
• Documents vital signs and point-of-care glucose in EMR.
• Maintains cleanliness of multi-use equipment and follows safety guidelines.
• Performs hand-off reports to oncoming staff.
