Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician (Nursing Assistant) for the 4S Ortho/Post Surgical Tele unit. This full-time role requires day shifts (7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), with every other weekend and rotating holidays, and may involve travel to other inpatient units as needed.

You will provide patient care under the guidance of a Clinical Nurse Manager, communicate with patients and families, and support nursing staff with routine assessments and privacy safeguards.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to interact effectively with others and uphold confidentiality.
• Effective written and verbal communication; organized and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned nursing unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates effectively with patient, families and health care team.
• Assist with patient hygiene, elimination needs, and daily living tasks.
• Set up patient room with ECG leads and monitoring equipment.
• Assist RN with admissions, vital signs, and initial assessments.
• Document vital signs and glucose readings in the EMR.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Stock nursing unit with supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
• Follow safety, fall, and high-risk precautions per RN direction.
• Give hand-off report to the next shift; participate in rounding and mobility.
• Complete required nursing unit documentation and quality checks.
