Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in patient care delivery, clerical tasks, and unit organization, with emphasis on teamwork and safety. The role involves timely communication with the RN and accurate documentation of care.

Typical duties include responding to patient calls, assisting with hygiene and mobility, and maintaining a clean, safe environment while ensuring patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Pref 1 year experience in a health care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider credential required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire (LA City only).

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Assists with hygiene, daily weight, vital signs, input/output.
• Maintains clean, organized patient rooms and provides comfort measures.
• Documents all care provided and communicates effectively with RN/Charge Nurse.
• Supports RN with patient plans of care and data collection.
• Ensures safety of patient care equipment and unit environment.
