Job summary

The University of Southern California Keck Hospital seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in patient care delivery, clerical tasks, and unit organization. This role emphasizes equipment safety and collaboration with the RN to implement the plan of care.

You will respond to patient calls within 10 minutes, assist with hygiene, meals, mobility, and documentation, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• CNA (CA DPH) certification is required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Strong English communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls within 10 minutes.
• Provide patient care tasks as delegated byRN and support plan of care.
• Assist with hygiene, meals, ambulation, and daily activities.
• Document care given, vitals, intake/output, and equipment used.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient rooms and unit areas.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and communicate patient needs timely.
