Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician to work under RN supervision, delivering direct and indirect patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team in a hospital setting.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED and completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship. A PCT Apprentice track offers pathway to full PCT roles with training and supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of the following programs: CNA, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician, or Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school or HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program.
• Candidates without full program completion may enter the HMH PCT Apprentice Program with future transfer to PCT role.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-appropriate criteria and care plans.
• Communicate with patients and care team regarding patient status and care delivered.
• Demonstrate initiative to exceed job expectations and improve performance.
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration of the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Engage in Unit/Department PI activities.
