Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support RN-directed care across units, delivering direct and indirect patient services to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and patient comfort, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and effective communication with the healthcare team. Requires high school diploma or GED and completion of an approved program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of one of the following - Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician program or Fundamentals of Nursing program from an accredited school of nursing or HMH PCT Apprenticeship.
• Candidates without a program may enter HMH PCT Apprentice program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age and criteria.
• Take vitals, collect specimens, and document findings.
• Perform venipuncture and basic lab specimen handling.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient transport.
• Support RN and interdisciplinary care plans.
