Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a diverse patient population under the direction of registered nurses. The role emphasizes safety, comfort, and quality care across a broad range of tasks from admissions to discharge.

Required is a high school diploma or GED, plus completion of a PCT/CNA/MA program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship, and BLS certification within 60 days. Hospital experience preferred; on-site NJ location.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of: PCT Apprenticeship, CNA/MA/PCT program, or equivalent medical background; HMH PCT Apprentice path available.
• AHA BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of start.
• Experience as PCT/CNA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with admissions, procedures, and patient safety initiatives.
• Take and document vital signs, glucose, samples, and deliver accurate records.
• Help with meal service and personal cares as needed.
• Maintain unit readiness and participate in PI activities.

Skills

BLS Certification
