Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and care teams in delivering safe, effective patient care across various units. The position requires completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent, BLS within 60 days, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of a CNA/Medical Assistant/PCT program or equivalent.
• BLS/Healthcare Life Support within 60 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age, education, safety and related criteria.
• Take vital signs and document findings in the patient record; notify RN of abnormalities.
• Draw venipuncture or capillary blood; ensure proper labeling and processing of specimens.
• Perform EKGs as directed and ensure equipment is ready and clean.
• Assist in patient transport and provide hygiene and comfort care as needed.
