Job summary

Ascension is hiring a Patient Care Technician at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time day-shift role supports cardiothoracic stepdown patients, focusing on mobility, hygiene, and accurate vital sign documentation.

You will work closely with nursing staff to ensure a sterile, safe environment and timely care delivery as part of a compassionate health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of related experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and safe transfers.
• Strong observation and documentation of vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and document data accurately.
• Assist patients with mobility, hygiene (ADLs), and safe transfers.
• Provide bedside care as part of the nursing team.
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and respond to patient needs.

• The Patient Care Technician (PCT)âthe backbone of bedside care.


• Physical Care: Handling mobility, hygiene (ADLs), and safe transfers.


• Clinical Support: Monitoring vital signs and documenting data accurately.


• Communication: Acting as the primary \"eyes and ears\" for the nursing staff.


• Safety: Keeping the environment sterile and the equipment ready.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need
