Ascension seeks a Nurse leader for the Cardiothoracic Stepdown unit in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on overseeing nursing operations, delivering high-quality patient care, and driving clinical objectives in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Minimum requirements include Indiana RN licensure, BLS preferred, and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with cardiac telemetry experience required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed by the Indiana Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Cardiac Telemetry experience required.
• 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Assess daily patient access needs and ensure that appropriate patient care is provided.
• Provide oversight involving all aspects of nursing department operations.
• Deliver quality patient care and ensure implementation of clinical objectives.
• Delegate appropriate duties to clinical staff based on assessed skills and abilities, maintaining proficiencies related to job functions and processes through ongoing monitoring of daily operations.
• Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.
• Participate with ongoing quality initiatives, auditing projects and development of plans for improvement.
• Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What Minimum Requirements Youll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
• Cardiac Telemetry experience required
• Surgery experience preferred not required
