Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech IHR to support basic patient care under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with ADLs, and ensuring a clean, safe patient environment.

Preferred qualifications include phlebotomy experience, CNA or CMA certification, and BLS/CPR. The role emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.
• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates prioritization and multitasking in changing conditions.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers calls and uses telephone etiquette to communicate with staff/family/patients.
• Manages unit workflow with charge RN or assistant manager as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates daily admission/discharge/census lists when needed.

Responsibilities
