Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Care Tech for the CDH Surgical Care Center. The role supports nursing staff in caring for post-surgical, orthopedic, and general surgery patients on a 49-bed unit.

You will perform basic patient care under the supervision of an RN, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a clean, orderly unit while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and intake/output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and ability to multitask in a fast-paced unit.
