Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Registered Nurse in direct and indirect patient care. The role includes performing phlebotomy, vital signs, and newborn care in a fast-paced clinical unit.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA certification or is enrolled in nursing education, with CPR/BLS certification and a high school diploma. Prior healthcare experience is preferred, with opportunities for training and professional development.

Qualifications

• CNA Certification or enrolled in nursing education with clinical rotations.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• High school diploma required; one year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Takes and records vitals, weight, and height for adults and neonates.
• Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens.
• Assists with newborn care and infant monitoring as directed by RN.
• Responds to patient call lights and emergencies; supports RN in patient care.
