Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support nurses and care teams in the Lake Forest area. The role involves collecting specimens, EKGs, catheter care, bladder scans, and point-of-care testing, while helping with patient hygiene and mobility as outlined in the patient plan of care.

Eligible candidates include high school graduates with CNA certification (or nursing students with clinical rotation) and BLS.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA program completion and Illinois CNA Registry or nursing student with one clinical rotation.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Discontinues Telemetry Monitoring packs.
• Performs Bladder Scan.
• Performs Point of Care Testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and nutritional needs as identified on the plan of care.
• Performs hourly patient rounding in collaboration with the clinical RN.
• Obtains and documents patient care data as directed by the clinical RN.
• Assists with patient ambulation and positioning as directed in the plan of care.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly.
• Maintains a safe clinical environment and assists with post mortem care.

Conocimientos

BLS Certification

Educación

High school diploma or equivalent
