Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest, IL seeks a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and patient care teams. You will collect samples, perform EKGs, assist with hygiene, daily rounds, and documentation under RN oversight.

This role emphasizes safety, patient comfort, and teamwork in a busy clinical setting. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be a certified CNA with IL registry listing or nursing student with a completed clinical rotation, and BLS

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listed on the Illinois CNA Registry or nursing student who has completed one clinical rotation.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Performs a variety of clinical/patient care related functions under RN/physician supervision.
• Collects, labels and transports specimens.
• Obtains 12 lead EKG’s
• Discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters
• Discontinues Telemetry Monitoring packs
• Performs Bladder Scan
• Performs Point of Care Testing as appropriate
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and nutritional needs
• Performs hourly patient rounding with RN
• Obtains and documents patient care data
• Assists with ambulation and positioning
• Supports patient, family and staff safety
• Assists with post mortem care
• Participates in learning and performance improvement initiatives
