Job summary

Ascension Health's Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, IN seeks a part-time Nursing Assistant to support Cardiac Services.

The role involves patient movement, daily living activities, and keeping rooms clean while assisting the nursing team during 7:00pm–7:00am shifts with every third weekend rotation. Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, and a BLS Provider credential within 30 days of hire; Nurse Aide is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aids with movement and placement of patients.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

• Schedule: Part Time Nights | Two 12 hour shifts per week | 7:00pm to 7:00am | Work every 3rd weekend rotation

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Nurse Aide.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences:

• Prefer at least 1 year of patient care experience in a high acuity inpatient hospital.
