Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey is seeking a part-time, per diem Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living and to support the healthcare team under RN/LPN supervision. This role reinforces safety, hygiene, and comfort for patients across our facilities in Voorhees.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, vitals, specimen collection as trained, and education reinforcement for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and mobility.
• Documents vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies changes in patient status and communicates to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education of patient and family on care needs and safety.
