Job summary

Virtua Health in Burlington, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under the direction of RNs and LPNs, and to support the healthcare team in delivering high‑quality care to patients close to home.

You will communicate with patients and families, reinforce care plans, help with bathing, mobility and basic procedures, and uphold professional ethics and safety standards during a 3rd shift, 24-hour work week at Burlington Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• PCT course, RN fundamentals, CNA program, or 1 year of direct patient care experience.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for ED positions.
• Maintains regulatory and departmental competencies.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as directed; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
