Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under RN/LPN supervision. You will communicate with the healthcare team, patients, and families, maintaining high professional standards and ensuring patient comfort.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic nursing tasks, and patient safety, with opportunities to participate in education and continuous improvement initiatives within a 24-hour, part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• BLS certification is preferred/required for department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility and transport.
• Performs and documents vital signs and other basic nursing tasks as directed by RN/LPN.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
