Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN. The schedule requires two 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with every other weekend and rotating holidays throughout the year.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose, recording intake and output, assisting with activities of daily living, and communicating any changes to the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT or nursing student with one semester completed are required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Monitors vital signs, takes blood glucose measurements, and records intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritizes unit work and handles changing needs with flexibility.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Nursing student with one semester of clinical completed
