Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech who will perform basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN, including vital signs, glucose checks, and reporting changes. You will assist with daily living activities and maintain clean, orderly rooms in a fast-paced unit. This full-time position offers a 7:00 a.m.

to 7:30 p.m. day shift, with alternating weekends and holidays. Required credentials include a high school diploma, CNA/MA/EMT or nursing student status, and BLS

Qualifications

• Basic nursing care activities under RN supervision.
• Ability to monitor vital signs and document measurements accurately.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Communicate abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff promptly.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Assists patients with personal care and ADLs (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and multi-tasking under pressure.
• Prioritizes unit work and responds to changing needs.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
