Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Care Tech to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate care in a hospital setting. You will perform basic nursing tasks under an RN, monitor vital signs, and assist with daily living activities to ensure patient comfort and safety.

This full-time role (72 hours per pay period) runs day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with alternating weekends and holidays, contributing to a cohesive care team on a busy unit at Northwestern Medicine.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinicals completed.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Monitors vital signs and glucose; records intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms and supports unit workflow.
