Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff on a 3-shift schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with basic patient care, vital signs, and activities of daily living. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, a CNA/CMA/EMT certification (or nursing student with one semester completed), and American Heart Association BLS.

Qualifications

• Basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN.
• Must be certified as CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing care activities including monitoring vital signs and glucose measurements.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff and assist with admissions/discharges as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and unit workflow.
• Communicate appropriately with staff, patients and families.
